Storytelling is our oldest ritual. Through shadows and firelight, we passed down warnings, wisdom, and wonder—shaping monsters and myths to reflect the parts of ourselves we dared not name. Dark fiction still does this. It seduces the mind, disturbs the surface, and illuminates what we fear to face.
